Which is it?

Fortunately, where SAD is concerned, Daylight Saving Time is just around the corner! And then those oppressively early nights will be a thing of the past. Can't do much about the rest, though.

Some news! In the time since I last posted here, I've illustrated a new comic for Electronic Beats. I was also interviewed for the season premiere of the Comic Invasion Berlin podcast and talked (in German) about this year's festival, which takes place April 24 to May 7, 2017*. If you are in town and you want to help out, the festival is currently looking for volunteers!

And finally, tabling at Comics & The Beast two weeks ago was a blast. Definitely one of my favorite comic events. Thanks to everyone who came out and bought stuff!

*Right between the first and second rounds of the French presidential elections, as it turns out. If you can vote in them, please do.

Darkness

WINTER! Eh? Eh?? Fortunately, 'tis the season and I'm off to California this month to flee Berlin's relentless lack of daylight. Could be worse.

It Begins

That sweet inexorable return to the long nights of winter.

Fiat Lux

We borrowed a sun lamp for a couple weeks. It's been a serious game changer.

I'm hard at work on the material for the bonus content volume of Master of Survival, which I have cleverly named The Third Degree! In addition to a handful of pages either still undrawn or hiding away in a folder, I've also scripted what seems to be a six-page epilogue comic, which may or may not turn out to actually be six pages long (Edit: it's seven. Haha. Hahaha)

In order for me to draw this and have it ready in time for Comic Invasion Berlin 2015, updates here will be kept to about two per month until the end of April. Speaking of CIB15, you should totally drop by. It will be epic.

I'm also researching a few options in terms of supporting this blog while my Patreon is on hold (see this post). More on that as it unfolds. In the meantime,  I've just spent a buttload of money on plane tickets to Lyon and London (again!!), in case you want to throw some money in the Traveling Tip Jar on the sidebar! (Edit 13/3/2015: Patreon have announced that they will handle the collection, filing and remittance of VAT in the EU on behalf of their creators!!! More about my Patreon next week. But you can still throw money in the Tip Jar, because I still just spent a buttload of money on plane tickets.)

Winter is here

Whew! That's my last post before my own personal getaway to the sunny climes of Sweden for some holiday cheer and familial watching of television. While I'm there I'll be wrapping up the daily Little Tiny Adventstüren posts I've been doing (and which you can follow on Twitter, TumblrInstagram and Facebook)!

In the New Year we'll be having a big ole recap of the madness that was 2013. Until then, I advise you to get thee hence to a place that sells Glühwein and get toasted in my honor (I'm turning a year older at some point too).

I've failed thus far to actually get toasted on Glühwein myself, which may be for the best as I've been alternating between wrapping up work and sitting in front of TV shows with tea and a cold. Deliverance is nigh, though! Catch you on the flip side.

S.A.D.

I'm all for snow, lights and quiet and cozy nights in with a book or a drawing table, but other than that I mostly just hate what winter does to my brain. That is why I moved to a city where the sun sets at 4PM by mid-November.
